Soul-full Sundays

A Healing Safe Space for Black People and People of Color

1st & 3rd Sundays:  12-4 pm  Appointment required.

30 minute donation based acupuncture sessions focused on reducing stress, anxiety, and building resilience. No intake required.

Ongoing experiences of discrimination and racism take a toll on ones emotional, psychological and physical well-being. The toxic stress associated with discrimination and racism have been associated with the development of chronic diseases, which disproportionately affect Black and other marginalized people. Black people and people of color, need safe, healing spaces that are dedicated to helping them cope and build the resilience necessary to carry on - spaces where the souls of Black and brown folk can be made full with loving kindness. Here at Pulse Community Care, we want to provide such a space for Black and brown people.

Dr. Safiya McCarter, Naturopathic doctor and licensed acupuncturist of color, will be holding this healing space and offering relaxing, stress-reducing acupuncture treatments for Black people & people of color in the DMV on 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month.

Sessions during this time will be done in accordance with social distancing guidelines and therefore space will be limited. Everyone must wear a mask. Appointments will be required.

*Fee*: For her service, Dr. McCarter is asking that you make a donation. Suggested donation is $10. All funds collected will be donated to an organization (to be determined) dedicated to supporting the care and well-being of Black and brown people.
