Chinese medicine has been treating reproductive health for thousands of years — not by suppressing symptoms, but by listening to them. Painful periods, PMDD, fibroids, hormonal imbalance, fertility, pregnancy, perimenopause, male factor infertility, erectile dysfunction — we treat the whole arc, for all bodies, at every stage.
What We Treat
We specialize in the full arc of reproductive health — for all bodies, at every stage. These aren't separate concerns. In Chinese medicine, they're all connected.
Cramping, heavy flow, clotting. In Chinese medicine, this is often blood stagnation or cold in the uterus obstructing free flow. Acupuncture moves that obstruction, warms the channels, and reduces the prostaglandins that drive pain.
Mood swings, rage, weepiness, breast tenderness, fatigue in the week before your period. Chinese medicine sees this as Liver qi stagnation — qi that builds and can't release before the bleed. It responds well to treatment, and the shift can be significant within a few cycles.
PCOS, irregular cycles, elevated FSH, luteal phase deficiency. Chinese medicine looks at kidney essence, spleen qi, and the overall pattern driving the imbalance — the root, not just the numbers. We often find patterns Western labs can identify but not fully explain.
We can't cure endo, but acupuncture significantly reduces pain, inflammation, and the impact on daily life. The underlying pattern is typically blood stasis with heat or cold — and addressing it directly changes how the body holds the condition.
In Chinese medicine, fibroids are often a pattern of blood stasis and accumulation. Acupuncture and herbal medicine address the underlying pattern, reduce heavy bleeding and pelvic pressure, and support quality of life — especially for patients managing fibroids without surgery or between interventions.
Chinese medicine prepares the body for conception by tonifying kidney jing, regulating the Chong and Ren vessels, and optimizing the uterine environment. We support natural cycles, IVF and IUI protocols, and the emotional weight of this journey — wherever you are in the process.
Nausea, back pain, anxiety, breech position, birth preparation. Acupuncture supports kidney and spleen qi, calms the Shen, and keeps qi and blood moving as the body changes. It's safe and effective at every stage of pregnancy. Women who come in consistently often have what we call acu babies — calm, easygoing newborns who smile easily, sleep well, and eat well.
Birth draws deeply on blood and qi. Recovery means rebuilding both — and settling a nervous system that's been through something enormous. We support physical healing, mood, milk supply, and the adjustment of new parenthood.
Hot flashes, sleep disruption, mood shifts, brain fog. In Chinese medicine, this transition is rooted in kidney yin deficiency, which allows heat to rise unchecked. Acupuncture and herbal medicine nourish that foundation and cool the heat. This transition deserves real support, not just patience.
Sperm count, motility, morphology, and overall reproductive health. Chinese medicine approaches this through kidney jing and yang — the foundational essence that governs reproductive vitality. Acupuncture and herbal medicine improve sperm parameters and support male factor infertility.
Often rooted in kidney deficiency, stagnant qi, or cardiovascular patterns in Chinese medicine. Pelvic floor acupuncture and herbal medicine address the underlying pattern rather than masking symptoms.
Looking for something specific?
These two areas are common enough — and complex enough — that we built focused pages for them. Each goes deeper on conditions, protocols, and what to expect.
The Process
A thorough intake — your full cycle history, symptoms, what's been tried before. We take the time to understand your pattern before we treat.
Most hormonal conditions respond to weekly sessions timed to your cycle. We work with your body's natural rhythms, not against them.
When clinically appropriate, a customized herbal formula extends the work between sessions. Formulas are reviewed and adjusted as your pattern shifts.
The goal is a body that works with you. Most patients reduce or end treatment once the underlying pattern has resolved — not indefinite management.
Investment
Full intake, pattern assessment, and treatment. The first session is where we understand your picture and set the direction.
Building on previous sessions. Hormonal conditions respond well to consistent, cumulative care.
Every formula is mixed in-house, herb by herb, specifically for your pattern. Reviewed and adjusted as you progress.

Common Questions
Yes. Both respond very well to acupuncture. We regulate the cycle, reduce prostaglandins that cause cramping, and address the hormonal patterns driving PMDD — mood swings, breast tenderness, fatigue, and emotional intensity in the days before your period.
Chinese medicine works by identifying and treating the underlying pattern causing your symptoms — not just managing them. For many women, this means lasting change rather than ongoing dependence on a prescription. It also works well alongside hormone therapy when that's the right choice.
Yes, when performed by a trained practitioner. We have extensive experience with prenatal care and adjust points and technique at every stage. Acupuncture is highly effective for nausea, back pain, anxiety, and birth preparation.
Whenever you're ready. There's no wrong time — whether you're in your twenties with painful periods or in perimenopause navigating a whole-body shift. Earlier treatment often produces faster results, but we meet patients at every stage.
We're out-of-network. If you have out-of-network benefits, your insurance may reimburse a portion of your visit cost. We provide a superbill (an itemized receipt) you can submit directly to your insurance. HSA and FSA are also accepted. We can also bill insurance directly for a small fee.
Whatever stage you're in, whatever you've already tried — there's likely more we can do. Come in and let's look at the whole picture together.
